Judith Kay "Judy" Nelson

Judith Kay Nelson, age 83, of Medina, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025. She was born on April 17, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Gilbert and Helen (Sabo) Peterson. Judy was a Librarian with the Medina County District Library for 23 years. She was an active volunteer at Life's Treasure's in Medina and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was the President of Medina Squares, an avid reader, and enjoyed family game night (as long as she was winning). She also loved lunching out with friends and making crafts to share with others. A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, she will be greatly missed by all.
Judy is survived by her children, David Buechele, Daniel Buechele, JoAnn Buechele, and Janee (Alois) Ploskonka; her grandchildren, Rhiannon (Kraig) Grieve, Steven Buechele, Jacob (Anna) Buechele, and Adam Ploskonka; her great grandchildren, Issac Grieve, and River Grieve; her sister, Jane Bynon; sister-in-law, Jackie Peterson; along with many nieces, Debbie, Linda, Tracy, Pam and Kati, her nephew, James, and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by husband, Douglas Nelson, her parents, her sisters, Audrey Romanik and JoAnn Peterson, her brother, James Peterson, brother-in-law, Lee Bynon, and Bryan Davis, father of Jacob Buechele.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 3:00 p.m.
