Judy Ann Mitchell Goforth, 83, beloved sister, aunt, stepmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Granbury, Texas, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 12 PM, on Wednesday, November 12, at the First Christian Church of Granbury. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at noon at the church. Burial will follow at Acton Cemetery.
Judy was born on November 14, 1941, in Granbury, Texas, to the late Bill and Lila Ruth Mitchell. In September 1967, Judy married her beloved Donald "Ralph" Goforth. Judy was devoted to her family. She enjoyed quilting and cooking and shared these gifts with all her family and friends. She was an avid golfer at both DeCordova and the Granbury Country Club. She loved to compete and had numerous golf accolades throughout her life. She was a member at the First Christian Church of Granbury and worked for many years as an Office Manager at GMAC and later volunteered as bookkeeper for Granbury Country Club. Judy was a member of the Eastern Star and also served on the city council of DeCordova.
Judy is survived by her siblings, Vera and husband Ralph Nanny, Billy and wife Pam Mitchell, Herman and wife Denise Mitchell and sister-in-law Vicki Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Clint Nanny, Shay and wife Donna Nanny, Lori and husband Marty Dodson, Jill and husband Nick Philipello, Susan and husband Jayson May, Sandra and husband Chris Elrod, Angie and husband Jorge Fajardo, Carri and husband Billy Morgan; step-sons, Gary and wife Cindy Goforth and Glenn and wife Sheryl Goforth and by numerous other family members.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Goforth and by her brother, Don Mitchell.

Aunt Judy was an enjoyable person to know. She was married to my father's brother, Ralph, and I have such good memories of all of us meeting up in Overton when I was just a small child. Our family was close and I will miss her. Poppy
