Judy (Ashbrook) Warren, 84, passed away peacefully September 19, 2025 in her home with her family by her side. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Judy was a beautician by trade but stayed at home to raise her children. She loved to shop, loved bowling and selflessly loved her family.
Judy was born in Fairfield, IL on October 22, 1940. She married John Warren September 10, 1972 and John passed in June of 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Percival "Percy" Ashbrook, a local barber, and Marie Ashbrook, a cook in the Mt. Vernon city schools.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Jeff Warren of Golden, Colorado, wife Laura and sons Evan and Carson; Jill Shelby and husband James of Mt. Vernon and son Ryker; a brother, Joe Ashbrook of Mt. Vernon; and a sister, Monya Bauza and husband Kevin of Oakdale and children Alison Bauza of Hoyleton and Austin Bauza of Oakdale.
Hughey Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 30 at Hughey Funeral Home, with the service following at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A meal will follow for family and friends at Central Christian Church. For those who prefer, a gift may be made to Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, or to the Jefferson County Historical Village.
