Julia Christine Nasella, 43, passed away at her home on April 30, 2025 after courageously and selflessly battling stage 4 Glioblastoma. She is the beloved mother of Christyllis Douglas and the loving fiancé of Erik Uhlig.
Julia was born in Melrose, Massachusetts on March 17, 1982 and was the daughter of Christine (Drew) Buckely of Nashua and the late Richard Nasella. She received her education in the Nashua School System and was a graduate of Nashua High School with the class of 2000.
For 20 years, she was employed as the animal manager for Petco at various stores throughout the Southern New Hampshire area. Julia also enjoyed her job as a fitness instructor at 9Rounds Boxing and Envy Sports Club. Most recently, she worked at Granite State Audio, a company owned and operated by her fiancé, Erik. They worked together every day for the past year and a half, where Julia happily learned new aspects of audio and electrical installation and was always so proud to tell her friends and family about her newest knowledge.
Julia was a vibrant soul whose passions lit up every corner of her life. A gifted writer and avid runner, she found joy in movement, exercise, and the serenity of the great outdoors-especially during long hikes under open skies. Her heart held a special place for palm trees, the sweet indulgence of vanilla frosting, and her all-time favorite treat: a Dunkin' Donuts caramel swirl. Julia's intellect shone brightest when it came to marine life-she was a true brainiac in fish science, able to name and explain any species with enthusiasm. In her youth, some of her fondest memories were made at baseball games with her brother and father. She loved to go on adventures, and two of her most treasured journeys were a sun-soaked trip to Key West with her beloved daughter, Christyllis, and an unforgettable visit to San Francisco. Despite her fear of water, she bravely joined in on water activities to share special moments with her family. Taking after her mother, Christine, Julia was a devoted fan of Dancing with the Stars, Julia never missed an episode. Through every challenge, Julia remained a ray of sunshine-her warmth, resilience, and laughter a comfort to those around her. Above all, she cherished her time spent with family and friends, the true center of her world.
In addition to her mother, Christine of Nashua, her daughter, Christyllis of Manchester (who was preciously named after her grandmother Christine and great-grandmother Phyllis), her brother Richard Nasella, and fiancé Erik Uhlig, she is also survived by Rich's wife Heather of Lawrence MA, their daughters Sam and Brooke, Erik's children Amora and Emilio; as well as other family and dear friends.
Sadly, Julia was predeceased by her stepfather, Stephen Buckley and her maternal grandmother, Phyllis Drew.
Julia's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Suriya Jeyapalan "Dr. J" and her entire staff at the Tufts Oncology Department as well as the staff at the Payson Cancer Center, Granite VNA, Waypoint, and the staff at Rochette Funeral Home for the care, comfort and love and support shown to Julia and her family over their time spent with one another.
Relatives and friends are invited to Julia's Celebration of Life on SATURDAY, May 31st at Greeley Park, 100 Concord Street, Nashua from 12 until 4pm PM at the Gazebo.
