Julian Michael "Mike" Fletcher, 72, born on September 15, 1953, in Tifton, Georgia, left this world on November 13, 2025, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. His life was characterized by hard work, family devotion, and a love for storytelling that brought joy to all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Chula with Rev. Dan Eidson and Rev. Jason Loggins officiating. A private interment will follow at Fletcher Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
James Aultman, Nathan Smith, Derrick Jones, Reid Jones, Jamie Horton and Brett Fletcher will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Aultman, Larry Jones, Robert Sears, Frank Jones, Hollis Flanders, Randy Stripling and the adult men’s Sunday school class of First Baptist Church of Chula.
He was a 1971 graduate of Tift County High School. After graduation, Mike went to work for Mr. Jack Jones at Jones Peanut Company. In 2006, he purchased the company from the Jones family and became affectionately known as the "Mayor of Chula." His entrepreneurial spirit and sharp mind earned him respect in both his profession and personal life, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Mike was a person who cherished the moments spent with family and friends. He relished telling stories, cultivating memories around the grill, and enjoying meals featuring his favorite fish. His hobbies included hunting and riding his ATV, activities that brought him immense happiness and fulfillment. A fan of western movies, he found joy in the simplicity of life's pleasures, embracing each day with a conservative outlook and an unforgettable spirit.
He leaves behind a loving family who will remember him dearly. Mike is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Brenda Johnson Fletcher; his children, Lee and Sabrina Fletcher and Luke and Lindsey Fletcher; his grandchildren, Lane Fletcher, Landon Fletcher, and Grady Fletcher; two brothers, Travis Fletcher and Eddie Wynn; and three sisters, Jan Fletcher, Sandra Walker, and Gail Youngblood.
Mike was predeceased by his father, Virgil Lauther Fletcher, and his mother, Catherine Dean Fletcher, as well as two brothers, J. R. Wynn and Ricky Darrell Fletcher.
A member of First Baptist Church of Chula, Mike's faith and commitment to his community were pillars of his life. His presence will be profoundly missed but his legacy will endure through the cherished memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
