Donald Lee Fletcher, 89, of Macomb Township, and formerly a proud 55-year resident of Warren, entered peacefully into the arms of his Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2025 in Clinton Township, Michigan. Born on January 28, 1936, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Don lived a long, full life centered on faith, family, hard work, and service to others.
Donald devoted more than half a century to the dairy industry as a truck driver, working for Risdon Bros. in Detroit and later Country Fresh in Madison Heights, where he retired in 2001. He was known for his reliability, dedication, and the countless miles he drove providing for his family.
A man grounded deeply in his Christian faith, Donald was an active member of Calvary Chapel Church in Roseville and participated in many Christian congregations across Metro Detroit. His faith inspired him to serve wherever he was called-including a memorable mission trip to Thailand. Don's heart for helping others was unmistakable. A devoted volunteer, he spent many hours aiding the homeless. In one unforgettable act of compassion, he invited a homeless man-"Charles"-to stay in his home, leaving his family lovingly asking, "What were you thinking, Dad?"
Donald's hands were always busy and always skilled. He loved woodworking, bowling, fishing, camping, and taking family vacations. An expert handyman, he could fix nearly anything. Above all, he cherished time with his family; it was the true joy of his life.
In 1955, Donald married the love of his life, Dortha Dunning, and together they shared 53 years of marriage until her passing in 2008. Their love, partnership, and devotion remain an enduring legacy for their family.
He is survived by his children: Pamela (Daniel) Derin, Timothy (Gayle) Fletcher, and Laurie (Steven) Cameron; and was preceded in death by his children Steven Fletcher and Deanna Moch. He was a loving grandfather to Jenny Sue (Sharon) Early, Thomas Cameron, Kelly Shoupe, Ashley (Matt) Kerridge, Amanda Cameron, Korynda Pasini, Olivia (Matt) Tatge, Thomas (Kristin) Fletcher, Cameron Pasini, Austin (Kylee) Derin, Kyle (Samantha) Moch, Jesse (Rebecca) Cameron, and Emma (Harman) Ladd, and a proud great-grandfather of nine great-grandchildren. Father-in-law of Curtis Moch and Carol Fletcher.
Donald is also survived by his siblings James (Cathy) Skinner, Pam (Mark) Szymanski, and Raymond Skinner.
He will be remembered as a man of faith, generosity, integrity, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the people he helped, and the countless acts of kindness that defined his life.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Donald's life with a visitation and funeral service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 2-8pm and a Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 10am at the funeral home.
Donald will be laid to rest next to his beloved Dortha at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Michigan.,
