Ken Lixey

Kenneth "Ken" Lixey, age 63, of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Troy, Michigan.
Ken was born on January 7, 1962, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Ronald "Ed" and Linda (née Teeple) Lixey. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army before beginning a long and dedicated career as a butcher. Ken retired in 2023 after 43 years with Hollywood Market in Rochester Hills, where he was known for his skill, work ethic, and friendly nature.
A true outdoorsman, Ken loved spending time in nature. He cherished time spent with his family and friends and was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. Ken was also an avid football fan who never missed a chance to cheer on his beloved University of Michigan Wolverines.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (née Thompson) Lixey; son, Kristopher Michael Lixey, his father, Ronald "Ed" (Janet) Lixey; his siblings, Robert Lixey and Kathy Lixey; and his cherished nieces and nephews-Joe (Kelly) Scheele, Jason (Christina) Gordon, Christopher (Erin) Hilliard, Ashley (Aubri) Hilliard, and Tiffany (Jon) Reeves. He is also remembered fondly by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, extended family, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Lixey. Ken will also be deeply missed by his loyal four-legged companions, Shelby and Remington.
Ken's kindness, humor, and love for life touched everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Ken's life with a visitation and service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke), Utica, on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2-8 pm, a funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10 am at the funeral home.
