Julie Ann Thomsen Allen

September 2, 1970 to April 11, 2025

On Friday, April 11, 2025, Julie returned home where she was reunited with her Heavenly Father, her beautiful daughter Shawnie, and other family and friends. Julie was born on September 2, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David Lee Thomsen and Maxine Hutchinson Thomsen. She spent her youth growing up in Salt Lake City, Junction, and Brigham City Utah. She graduated from Box Elder High School and Ricks College; she served a mission in the California Carlsbad Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After returning home from her mission she was working three jobs and attending the Brigham City Singles Ward where she met Michael Andrew Allen and after a whirlwind courtship. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple. They spent their wedding night in the Inn at Temple Square and the rest of their honeymoon in Oahu and Kauai Hawaii where they had the time of their lives. After returning home they moved into their home in Brigham City where they spent their entire 29 years together. Julie served in many church callings and served a couple's mission with Mike at the Mantua Girls Home and Maple Hills Camp. Through the years she was physically capable, Julie was selfless and could always be found in the service of her fellow man. Despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 18, she gave birth to 4 children and she would light up like a Christmas tree when she got to visit with her two granddaughters. She was an amazing mother/grandmother and loved every minute of it. Julie and Mike were business partners for many years where she performed office work, filled vending machines and kept the books. This meant Mike was regularly found flirting with the cute Redhead in the office. She was often found giving children rides on her wheelchair and letting them drive it and honk the horn. She was famous for the statement "plug your ears, Dear!" then she would honk the wheelchair horn to get her teenagers to listen and behave. Even though Julie could hardly move she could bend a 3" thick metal I-beam with her thoughts, emotions, and "Red Head" determination, which always made her "The Boss"! She never complained about her situation and downplayed any pain she was in.

She was pleasant to be around and made friends with everyone. She definitely "Returned home with honor" She was preceded in death by her brother Shawn Alan Thomsen, daughter Shawnie Lee Allen, and her Brother-in-Law Chris Young. She is survived by her parents David and Maxine Thomsen, her husband Michael Allen; her son Robert Allen; her daughter JoAnna (Collin) Fox; her son David Allen; her granddaughters, Mabel and Penelope Fox; her sisters, Janet (Ron) Bown and Penny Young; her brothers, Tim (Candy) Thomsen and Miles (Lisa) Thomsen.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to go to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at https://msfocus.org/Donate.aspx
