June E. Bartels

June Elaine Bartels of Shafer, Minnesota died on February 8, 2025 at the age of 89 years. She was born on May 13, 1935 in Mineral Center, Minnesota to parents Lester and Mildred (Linnell) Smith.
June was the last surviving child of 11 kids. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Buck, Guy, Robert, Dallas, Basil, and Wesley; sisters Dorothy, Doris Walker, and Eileen Green; 2nd husband Frank Koffler, son-in-law Michael LaCroix, and daughter-in-law Debbie Bartels.
June married Loren (Bart) Bartels on September 20, 1953 and they had 5 children Robbie, Misty, Terry, Tammy, and Shelly (Scott); grandchildren Bryce (Paul), Stacy, Steve (Jessica), Shannon, Jamie (Stacy), Jennna, Mindi, Jordan (Miranda), and Nichole; great grandchildren Andrew, Nathan, Savanna, Zanden, Ryden, Josie, Jameson, Emma, Skyler, Annabelle, and Harrison.
June and Bart resided in Blaine with their five kids and June worked at Onan/Cummins until she retired.
June was a fantastic cook and loved having large family gatherings for the holidays. She was also an avid dog lover.
June was currently residing at the Memory Care Facility in Hugo where they took excellent care of her and even though she was a handful, they all grew to love her.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service. A private family interment to be held at a later date.
