June Betty Ehlen (Kovacs) was born in Guttenberg, New Jersey and went to Memorial High School in West New York. After graduation she worked at the Tootsie Roll Factory in Hoboken. In her high school yearbook, she aspired to become a reporter and collected money for the newspaper. Although she never became a reporter, she was a reporter at heart. She never left out a single detail when telling stories and when she was done, she'd say, "That's the Scoop". She was introduced to her husband Henry at a soccer game and they were happily married for 64 years. They were active members of Schuetzen Park in North Bergen and regulars at Kochers Butcher. They made daily trips to Hilltop, Millers and Palisades Park Bakeries to satisfy their sweet tooths. She loved swimming, going to the beach, reading mystery novels, watching movies and Wheel of Fortune. She was a recent resident at Sunrise Senior Living in Cresskill until she passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025. She kept busy at Sunrise playing bingo, bowling, reading in the book club and doing arts and crafts. She was known as "Ten Piece" at Sunrise because of her numerous layers of clothing to stay warm. She just celebrated her 88th birthday surrounded by family and friends. June's world revolved around her family. She will be remembered as a devoted and selfless mother and grandmother who instilled honesty, determination, faith, strength, and love in her children. She is survived by her loving daughters, Diane Tolomeo, Carol Ehlen and Lorraine Dillon and her husband Dominic Dillon. She was "Oma" to her beloved granddaughter, Nicole Tolomeo. June leaves behind one brother David, sister-in-law Pat and nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering at Lorraine and Dominic's House in Denville, New Jersey – date/times to be determined.
