Karen Griffin Cox

Karen Griffin Cox- a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend- of Soddy Daisy, TN passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the age of 66. She faced a short but courageous battle with cancer, showing incredible strength and grace until the very end.

Born on June 27, 1959, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Karen was the daughter of late Charles Griffin and Lavern Crowder Griffin. She graduated from Hixson High School in 1977 and went on to attend ETSU where she obtained a degree as a dental hygienist.

Her friends and family will cherish memories of her passion for gardening, love of travel, and summer days at her pool with her grandchildren and family friends. She had a remarkable talent for making everyone feel welcome.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Andy Cox; her father, Charles Griffin; and her mother, Lavern Griffin. She is survived by her daughter Brennan (Justin) Stewart; her son Jonathan Cox; Siblings Susan Hodge, Linda (Rodney) Tabor, and Chuck (Jill) Griffin; and 6 grandchildren, Reagan, Londyn, Hayden, Adley, Kohen and Evie, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Williamson and Sons on Thursday November 13th from 4:00-8:00 and Friday November 14th from 3:00-6:00.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Alicia, RN with Hearth Hospice and Ms. Deb, her overnight caregiver, for their compassion, kindness, and unwavering support during her final weeks.
