Karen Denise Craven, 59, of Newberry, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2024, at National Health Care in Clinton.
Born on August 15, 1964, she was a daughter of the late William Dowling and Miriam Jollay Craven. She was a member of Wightman United Methodist Church and a former member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church. Karen participated for many years in the Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church Sunday Night Ministry, the Newberry Community Choir and the Community Players.
She is survived by uncles, Derrill Craven of Blanchard, OK and Jerry Ned Craven of Simpsonville; special friends, Ruby Point and Nancy Harvey, a special caretaker, Vontressa Feaster and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Jeannie Anne Craven.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. She will be buried with her parents at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church in Dillard, GA.
