Karen Sue Whitley, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 7, 2025. She was born on July 15, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Harold and Helen Powell.
She enjoyed shopping, dancing, getting her hair and nails done and traveling with Gary, Joe, and Cheryl. She loved decorating her home for different seasons and holidays, her favorite holiday being Christmas.
She retired from the Indiana Department of Revenue after 25 years.
She is survived by her son, Chris (Sasha) Griner; step daughter, Angie Morphew; grandchildren, Kaylee Griner, Kyle Griner, Jacob Morphew, and Ben Morphew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary D. Whitley; and siblings, Darrell Powell and Marcia Lively.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service time at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 16, 2025 at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
