Paul Lucas Jefry

Paul Lucas Jefry, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 6, 2025. He was born on November 9, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Paul never met a stranger and possessed a natural mechanical curiosity that led him on countless adventures. Growing up between Indiana and California gave him a unique perspective on the world-and an endless collection of stories to prove it.
Paul loved all forms of transportation, from the memorable to the misfortunate. There was the time he drove a '57 Ford down Route 66 with his sister, and the less fortunate occasions when his brand-new Harley was stolen right out of his Dad's house and when he crashed his plane in a field. Whether he was flying planes, cruising the Ohio River in his houseboat, snorkeling, or scuba diving, Paul was always in motion. He cherished his memberships in the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Rising Sun Yacht Club, finding kindred spirits among fellow enthusiasts.
An excellent craftsman, Paul loved building anything he could get his hands on, though model boats and planes held a special place in his heart. He put his mechanical mind to good use as a loyal employee at Ford Motor Company for 32 years, where his ingenuity and dedication left a lasting mark.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon Jefry; children, Marc (Jaime) Jefry and Laura Jefry; grandchildren, Brooke, Brandon, Aidan, Cole, Addison, Stella and Anastasia; and siblings, Russel Glidewell and Pamela Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Paul Jefry and Laura Virgina Johnson, and his sister, Linda Mericle.
Paul will be deeply missed by many, including the Blue Goose Hunting Club, the Two for Tuesday and Three for Thursday Club, the regulars at Paul and Jerry's Saloon in Jerome, and anyone who ever shared a beer with him or witnessed his unwavering devotion to coffee and tools.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
