Katherine Ann Almasy was born on December 14, 1958, in the vibrant city of Manchester, New Hampshire. She departed this world on May 8, 2025, at the Elliot Hospital, after a hard-fought struggle against Multiple Sclerosis, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones.
Katherine was renowned for her bright spirit, which illuminated every gathering she attended. Her ability to engage with others, to envelop them in her infectious laughter, made her a beloved friend and confidante. A curious conversationalist, she thrived on the rich tapestry of human connection, often expressing her joy through engaging dialogue and a keen interest in the latest local gossip.
In life, Katherine held an unparalleled fondness for animals, with a particular affection for her loyal dogs, who remained steadfast companions by her side. Her love extended beyond her furry friends; she embraced the simple pleasures of life, such as delighting in a perfectly crafted steak and cheese sub at her all-time favorite spot, Nadeau's Subs.
Katherine’s legacy will live on through her cherished family members; her devoted daughter, Kristen Arel and her husband Eric, and their children Taryn, Peyton, Adelyn, Gavin and Hayden; her devoted sons Patrick Almasy, Michael Almasy and his wife Ashley, and their son Zane, and Shawn Almasy and his wife Ashley; her brothers Kevin, Thomas, and Brian O'Neil; her sister Sharon Montminy and all of their spouses; and her many nieces and nephews. They carry forward her spirit and the compassion she so freely offered. She was also deeply loved by her father, Bernard O'Neil, and her mother, Theresa O'Neil, whose guidance and support shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Katherine's life will take place on May 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium - 243 Hanover street, Manchester, NH. This will be followed by a memorial service, commencing at 10:30 AM. A graveside service will conclude the day's events at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Bedford, NH, beginning at 11:30 AM.
Katherine Ann Almasy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew her. Her profound impact on their lives serves as a testament to a life well-lived, one filled with warmth, connection, and unwavering dedication to family and friends.
