Kathleen Ellen Finnerty, 68, of Canton, Georgia, formerly of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, Kathy was the beloved daughter of the late Gertrude R. (née Kelly) and Francis Joseph Finnerty. She was a proud graduate of Mt. St. John Academy in Gladstone, NJ, and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Saint Leo College in Florida.
Kathy led a full and vibrant life, marked by her many talents and passions. In her youth, she was a dedicated member of the Berkeley Swim Team, where she earned numerous medals for her skill and perseverance. She was also an accomplished English equestrian rider, having won several ribbons in competitions.
Kathy is survived by her loving sisters, Maureen Bigelow and Michele Tauber. She was predeceased by her cherished parents, Gertrude and Francis Finnerty.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in her honor on Friday, September 12th at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Little Flower, Plainfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial.
