I just learned that she died almost 3.5 years ago. I had her as a teacher in 9th grade at Berkley High School. She taught algebra. I have a learning disability and really struggled adjusting to high school. She was very kind to me as a struggling student at the time. In fact, a few weeks ago, still not having yet learned of her 2021 passing, I mentioned to my mom how much I appreciated how kind "Mrs. Williams" was to me. I thought I might not be fit for regular Ed classes in high school and felt very discouraged, but my mom told me that Mrs. Williams assured her that I would be okay, and that tuned out to be true.

I also remember feeling very stressed and overwhelmed one day as a student and Mrs. Williams gave me an encouraging smile and it gave the strength to get through that particular tough moment.
