Kathryn A. "Katie" Norem

KNOX – Katie Norem, 43, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024. She was born on December 9, 1980, in Knox to John and Kathy Norem and lived in the area her entire life.
Katie was loved by many and remembered for her free, kind, and creative spirit. She graduated from Knox High School in 1999 and later earned her associate's degree from Ancilla College in general studies. Many will also remember her from her years of working diligently at the Hamlet Feed Mill.
She cared deeply for all those around her, but especially her two beautiful children Javelin and John. They were her truly her greatest joys in life. She was a fun-loving aunt to all her nieces as well and enjoyed the holidays as well as having fun times with her family. Katie also had a love for animals, and she had a special touch with them. Katie had the talent of being able to do almost anything she set her mind to. Her kind nature and perseverance will live on in her memory.
Katie is survived by her parents John and Kathy Norem; her two children John and Javelin Norem; her sister Amie (Travis) Flora; three nieces Liberty, Sophie, and Josey Flora; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved her.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 CDT Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 1:30 PM CDT Thursday, July 25 also at the funeral home with additional visitation from Noon to the time of the funeral on Thursday. Burial will follow at Eagle Creek Cemetery, Knox. In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial Contributions be made in Katie's memory to the Starke County Scholarship Fund.
