Kathryn Regina Obney, age 73, of New Franklin, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, as she went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born in Akron, Ohio she was preceded in death by her father, Richard G. Walker, and is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Walker of Hartville. Kathryn, affectionately known as Regina, is also survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Timothy F. Obney; stepdaughter Stacy Obney; brothers Michael G. (Teresa) Walker and Daniel A. (Maryann) Walker; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Regina will be remembered for her deep love for Jesus Christ and her unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel. A passionate motorcycle rider, she traveled extensively, from Halifax Nova Scotia to St. Petersburg, Florida, never deterred by inclement weather. Her motto was always, "Put on your rain suit and let's go!" A true animal lover, Regina had a special place in her heart for pets, often caring for multiple at a time. She also shared her musical talents as a gifted singer in various church worship groups, and as a keyboard and bass player in the Unchained Worship band. Regina was also an avid golfer, achieving a hole-in-one at Turkeyfoot Golf Course. Regina was a proud graduate of Field High School, Class of 1969. Later in life, she pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hiram College at the age of 40, followed by a Master's degree and PhD from the University of Akron. A licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, she opened Dayspring Counseling, her own clinic and was also a Holistic Health and Wellness coach. In addition to her professional work, Regina dedicated her time to volunteering for numerous causes, offering free haircuts to outreach programs around Akron and contributing her skills to the Bridgestone Invitational Golf Tournament, the senior Visitor Program, and the Citizens Review Board. Regina's life was a testament to her faith, compassion, and commitment to serving others. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of all knew her. Regina's funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 12 Noon at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor Marv Hodges officiating. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of her service.

Reg, you will forever be in my heart! We shared a Love for Jesus! Every conversation with you was always profound. You were undoubtedly one of my favorite counselors! Ministering God´s love to the wayward teenage soul with you will remain a forever memory . You are with him today in Heaven. I will see you again and we will dance and sing in Heaven my sister. Until then, I will carry the torch for you and share the Gospel with the same passion you had to tell of Jesus´s Love. I´ll keep your beautiful Mom and Timmy in my prayers for you! I love you my friend, my sister. Kimberly Kale
