Kathryn Simpson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 20, 2025.
Kathryn Louise Simpson (Wilkins) of Yakima passed away peacefully in her sleep into the arms of Jesus her Savior on August 16, 2025, two weeks short of her 93rd birthday.

She graduated from Naches High in 1950. In February of 1952, she married Fred O. Simpson. They moved to Pennsylvania while Fred completed his four years in the Navy. While on the East coast they had two daughters: Kristine Ann born in 1953 and Tereasa Robin born in 1954.

After moving back to Naches in the mid 1950s Kathy worked at various banks and stores in the accounting departments where her talent with numbers was a real asset.

During their 60 years of marriage they made numerous trips to Hawaii where they enjoyed the weather, food and relaxation.

Kathy never enjoyed cooking so after moving to Reno in 1991 she was quite happy to spend an evening at a casino where a meal could be had for a few dollars.

As Kathy grew older she loved telling jokes to doctors, clerks and anyone that came over for a visit.

Kathy is survived by her daughters Kris (Harry), Robin (Herb), her brother Hubert (Karen), four grandchildren Terry Muffett (Missy), Philip Muffett (Lori), Steve Dunham (Alicia), and Sandi Perez (Carlos), and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Evelyn Wilkins, husband Fred and sister Maureen.

Kathy will be laid to rest at West Hills Memorial Park.
