Kathryn "Kay" Warren, age 82, passed away August 18, 2025. She was born January 16, 1943, in Fremont, Nebraska, to James and Mary (Shada) Denson.
Kay had a lifelong love of books and shared that joy with her family. She often gathered her children to read aloud, passing on her love of stories and learning to her daughters. Through life's paths, the gift of reading remained a meaningful bond they carried from their mother.
For more than ten years, Kay shared her life with her dear friends and roommates, Kathy and Carol, enjoying many outings and adventures together. Most recently, she was a resident in a nursing home where she quickly became involved in activities. She especially loved playing BINGO, and the staff often remarked that she was a joy to be around.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Blackney.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (James) Peters, Linda (Brian) DeBower, Angel Rasmussen, and Amy (Jeremy) Church; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room. The family will direct memorials.
