Kathy Jean Butler Courtney, age 65, of Kings Mountain, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024, at White Oak Manor. She was born on October 11, 1959, to Alice Faye Foster Robinson and the late Guy Vernon Butler. Throughout her career, Kathy served as the store manager of a convenience store. She had a deep love for Jesus and enjoyed listening to gospel music. Kathy was passionate about crafting and was known for her generosity and kindness. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.
Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her brother Roger Butler.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother Alice Robinson; children Jonathan Butler (Jennifer), Misty Sheppard (Justin), stepsons Alan Courtney, and Anthony Courtney; grandchildren Kayla, Krista, and Khloe Butler, MaKenna Deve’, and Ezekiel Sheppard; sisters Debra Duetsch (Edward) and Darlene Gibson (Ray); brothers Chris Butler (Tina) and Kenneth Massagee.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 12:00 noon – 12:45 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home. The funeral service to celebrate Kathy’s life will follow in the chapel at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Jamie Billings. Burial will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the family for a grave marker.
