Kathy Durand, age 77 of "Sewell" Mantua Township passed away on Saturday May 10, 2025. Born in Woodbury to the late Raymond A. Edwards and Emma (nee Bodine), she graduated from Clearview Regional High School Class of 1965. She attended Glassboro State College and earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in library science in 1973. Kathy retired from Mantua Township Public Schools in 2006. She was a faithful and active member of Mantua United Methodist Church where she was their organist, choir director, participated in her Eve Circle group & S.A.L.T. Class, and supported many activities at church. Kathy was an avid Philadelphia Phillies & Eagles Fan and enjoyed book club and retired teacher luncheons & social gatherings. She cherished yearly summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ with her family and going to Uncle Bill's Pancake House. Most of all she loved her family and being MomMom to her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mark M. Durand; two daughters, Amy Durand and Emily Preece & her husband, Ian; her son, Patrick Durand & his wife, Stacy; five grandchildren, Destini & Devyn Parker, Justin & Landon Preece, and Lily Durand; her great granddaughter, Paisley Napoli; two sisters, Joyce Wescott & her husband, Ed and Cheryl Sastic & her husband, Dan, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces & great nephews.
Relatives & friends may visit from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, May 15th at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ and from 9 am to 10 am on Friday, May 16th at Mantua United Methodist Church, 201 Mantua Blvd., Mantua, NJ 08051 where a funeral service will be held at 10 am. Interment will follow in Wenonah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mantua United Methodist Church at the address above.
