Kay Denise (Lane) Clay, age 80, passed away August 17, 2024.
Kay was born August 7, 1944 in Memphis, TX. She worked at the local drug store in Turkey, TX and graduated from high school there, where she excelled in volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. Soon thereafter, she married the love of her life, Bobby Clay, and the couple raised four daughters together while managing their farm and pecan orchard. In her later chapter of life, Mrs. Clay found her beloved church family at North Union Church of Christ in Whitesboro, TX. Mrs. Clay also enjoyed gardening and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: daughter Jenny Lavey and husband Mike of Prosper, TX; daughter Angela Perkins and husband Robert of Stillwater, OK; daughter Tammy Fuhrmann and husband Glenn of Lindsay, TX; daughter Sherry Carter and husband John of Gunter, TX; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth Lane; brother Keith Lane; brother Barry Lane; and sister Debbie Maxwell.
Mrs. Clay was preceded in death by: parents Tink and Estelle Lane; husband of 57 years, Bobby Clay; and brother Frank Lane.
A memorial graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey, TX. You may register your condolences online at www.geojcarroll.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made towards medical research focusing on Parkinson's Disease or Alzheimer's Disease.
