Kaye Whitt, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 19, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at her son & daughter in laws home in Lorena, Texas.
Born in Bruceville, Texas, in 1940 to Curtis and Celeste Taylor, Kaye grew up with a heart for family, creativity, and community. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, W.C. Taylor; and her children, Ronnie Orban and Connie Finch.
Kaye is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Whitt. Together they shared 53 years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary just one day before her passing, on August 18th. She is also survived by her son, Curtis Whitt and wife Brandi Whitt; her grandsons, Ronnie Orban Jr. and wife Jennifer Tatum, Curtis Whitt Jr., Chandler Whitt, Kaleb Whitt, Kobi Whitt, Cooper Orban, Camden Orban, and Tatum Morgan; and her great-grandson, Ayden Whitt.
Kaye had a gift for creativity and spent many joyful hours crafting and painting beautiful works of art. She also had a love for dancing—whether line dancing with the Heart of Texas Boot Scooters Club or enjoying nights out with Jerry at the Melody Ranch, she found happiness in music and movement.
Her warmth, kindness, and artistic spirit touched everyone who knew her. Kaye’s greatest joy was her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Memories and condolences can be left on the obituary at the funeral home website.
