Keith Bailey, 55, of Freehold, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Freehold, NJ. He was born in Red Bank and raised in West Keansburg, where he resided until moving to Freehold 24 years ago and dedicated much of his life to public service. Keith was a police officer with the Freehold Borough Police Department from 1996 until his retirement in 2015. He lived in the town that he retired from and loved seeing all the guys around town. Keith was a proud exempt member of the West Keansburg Fire Company for 7 years, from 1987 to 1994. Keith was also a life member, Ex-Captain and department secretary of the Freehold Fire Department, Engine 2 since 1996. Keith and his brothers proudly owned and operated Gray Smoke Car Service in Freehold since 2022. Keith was an avid Yankees fan and would watch them from the comfort of his recliner by the window. Keith had a lifelong passion for golf and was happiest on the course with his regular foursome – his brother Shawn, John, Jamey, and himself. Keith treasured time with his family and found his greatest joy in simply being together with the people he loved, those moments meant the world to him. Keith loved going on vacations, especially cruises and annual trips to Wildwood for the Firemen's Convention, where he always had the best time surrounded by friends & family, laughter and good memories.

Keith was predeceased by his parents, James and Janet Bailey. He is lovingly remembered by his brothers, James Bailey and his wife Heather, and Shawn Bailey and his girlfriend Wendy McCartney; his beloved nieces and nephews, Ryan Bailey and his wife Steph, Kevin Bailey and his girlfriend Mackenzie, Amanda Bailey and her boyfriend Dante, Danny Bailey, and Sydney Bailey; as well as extended family and friends whose lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main Street, Freehold with a Fireman's Service at 7:00PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold. The family is requesting donations be made to B.P.O of the Elks Lodge 1454, 75 East Main Street, Freehold.

Keith Bailey was the kind of man who left a mark on every life he touched. A true servant at heart, he dedicated himself selflessly to his community-as both a Police Officer and a Firefighter. But beyond the uniform, Keith was so much more. He was a mentor who guided with wisdom and compassion, and a friend whose loyalty and kindness knew no bounds.

Keith had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. He put others before himself without hesitation, and his strength and courage inspired everyone around him. They say legends never die-they live on forever in the stories, hearts, and lives they´ve impacted. Keith Bailey was, without question, a legend.

It was an absolute honor and a privilege to have known him. His memory will continue to light the path for so many of us. Rest easy, Keith-you will never be forgotten.
