Keith Eugene Jamison

Keith Eugene Jamison was born April 16, 1956, and passed into eternal life on July 6, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Littleton, Colorado, which is where his father, Darrel Eugene Jamison was working at the time. Keith's father Darrel died in a work accident on May 21, 1956, which was just weeks after Keith was born. After Darrel's death, the family moved back to Yuma which is where Keith resided most of his life until he passed away.
From a very early age, Keith was adventurous and had a rebellious spirit. While living in Denver, he and his sister egged an FBI car on Wadsworth. They tried to run, but they could not hide! Also, he once had a pig and named it after his girlfriend. When he told her, he never heard from her again and was heartbroken. He was out on his own at 15, and married at 16. Despite having to grow up fast, he kept a playful and kind heart all his life.
Keith married Peggy Lea Furrow in 1973, and to that union, Kandi and Rocky were born.
Keith had been setting up sprinklers since around 1975 with his good friend, Greg Jones. They eventually were asked to travel to Venezuela to train the workers on how to set them up. They returned after 7 weeks and were glad to be home. He became very knowledgeable about sprinklers and was a mentor to many. Keith worked jobs that required strength and grit. Out in the elements, building and repairing, breaking down and putting back together.
Keith married Babette Reitz in 1982 and to that union, Tyler was born.
Keith was self-reliant, self-taught. He was able to fix anything and had a true passion for making things come back to life. His restoration projects were a great way to connect and pass down his wisdom to his family.
Playing his guitar was something that meant a lot to Keith and everyone around him. He would play first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee, lunch breaks at work, and when he got home at night. He shared his love of playing the guitar with everyone including family, friends, and coworkers. Playing the guitar was a way for him to connect to others and others to connect with him. The guitar provided the most genuine of expressions for Keith.
Keith met Julie Scobee in 1996 and they were married in 2000. Keith became a stepfather to Joe, Jeff, and Andrew.
Keith loved to fish, ride motorcycles, play pool, and golf. Keith was known for being ornery. There is a lifetime of stories and memories, too many to write, that will be his legacy to those who hold him near and dear to their heart. As the family sits here to write this, as with any obituary, this is only a small look at what made Keith the amazing guy he was. He will be missed dearly.
Keith was preceded in death by his father Darrel Eugene Jamison, mother Marilee Reynolds Jamison Baird Robertson, sister Arlene Hockman, aunt Shirley and uncle Jim Pauli, cousin Debra Pauli, brother Jerry Baird, brother-in-law Dean Scobee, and mother-in-law Shirley Scobee.
He is survived by his wife Julie Jamison and stepsons Jeff and Joe (Ilea) Scobee and family, and Andrew; sister Myrna Hansen (Randy Hartley) and her sons Jesse and Jared (Paige); daughter Kandi Jamison (Victor Perez) and children Jaeden and Victor; son Rocky (Cassandra) Jamison and their children Jersie and Sawyer; son Tyler Jamison; cousins Pam (Conrad) Popp and Dennis (Becky) Jamison; cousin Gary Pauli, niece Megan Duncan and family, nephew Ben Baird and family, granddaughter Lillian Guinn and great-grandson Jaxon and several other family members and close friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the United Methodist Church of Yuma at 10:00 am. Inurnment will follow at the Yuma Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of Colorado or to The Shriner's Children's Hospital. His full obituary will be uploaded when available.
