Kelly Jean Fenish, 58, died Friday, October 18, 2024 after a battle with Liver Disease.
Born in Parma, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jean Williams Fenish, Sr.
Kelly made a name for herself while attending J.L. Mann High School (class of '84) as a super-star athlete in basketball, softball, volleyball and track. But her heart and sportsmanship were what really made her stand out. She loved people and getting to know them, and always made them feel loved and special. She loved her time working in sporting goods stores where her customers would ask for her by name. She used her love of the outdoors and gardening and ran a successful landscaping business for more than 5 years. But Kelly really found her calling as a dementia specialist at the Gardens of Eastside, where she made an impact on the lives of many, as they were coping with the care and loss of their loved ones. Each one making her part of their family. She made herself available to them to be their teacher, listening ear, shoulder to cry on, and give them one of her famous hugs.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Kerry McLaughlin (Patrick) and their children, Shannon, Katie, and Brody; as well as her brother's children and grandchildren, Zach Tyler (Georgia), Lindsay Fenish Levy (Dalton), Tinzlee McKain, and Tatum Levy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert G. "Rob" Fenish, Jr.
A visitation will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Humane Society.

I worked with Kelly at Sam White sports world when I was in high school. I remember her working patiently with team sport players, fitting them with shoulder pads while simultaneously cracking jokes. I remember her affinity for Diet Coke and the Starvin Marvin gas station next-door. She was never lazy and always on time. She Was the perfect example for having a good attitude. She gave me great advice and always made me feel at home (even when I managed to fumble the cash register balance every other day). She was A great example of how teamwork can help the world as a whole.
