Kelsey Layne Mcquien, 32, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025. Kelsey was born on October 7, 1992, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Bettina Abernathy Blalock and Mitchell Mcquien Sr.
Kelsey loved being creative with makeup and fashion, collecting jewelry, making people laugh, and had about 1,000 favorite bands. She loved concerts, cooking shows, Halloween, and good 90s movies. Above all else, she loved being a mother. She's survived by her 12 year old son, Kasey Kenney Jr., 3 year old daughter, Kadence Kenney, devoted brother Mitchell McQuien Jr., adoring mother, Bettina Blalock and loving stepfather, Keith Blalock.
Kelsey's life was filled with long medical battles and struggles. She handled them with such grace and dignity. Her strength was unimaginable.. but through it all her light shone brightly like her smile. And her heart was always full of love and joy. Our love for her will live on forever. She will be missed beyond description..
She was and will always be my sunshine.
A visitation will be held from 10am - 11am Thursday, July 24, the hour prior to the service at Craig Funeral Home.
