Funeral service for Ken Self, age 56 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Mickey Oates and Donna Albert officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with Adam Bates, Chris Baldwin, Jeremy Pierce, Thomas Riehl, Chris Self, Michael Self and BJ Hatley serving as pallbearers and Floyd Lawson, Matt Diaz, Joe Bell, Michael Ross, Jared Robinson and Ronnie Wolf serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Self passed away on December 12, 2022.
Ken was born on July 6, 1966 in Dallas, Texas to Kenneth Moyle and Mildred Louise (Ray) Self. He married LaVania Self on February 13, 2009 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Ken worked as a truck driver for Grocery Supply. He loved painting, the outdoors and walking TomTom.
He is survived by his wife, LaVania; children, Shalia Self and husband, Ronnie Wolf, Megan Robinson and husband, Jared; Candice Bell and husband, Joseph, Nicole Ross and husband, Michael, Justine Diaz and husband, Matthew and Patricia Watkins; grandchildren, Eein Huddleston, Hope R Beck, Braydon R Beck, Deidre M. Bell, Cydnee J. Albert, Asher W Albert, Kaydence F. Ross, Jasper D Diaz, Allison E. Diaz and Baby Robinson; father, Kenneth; siblings, Zina VanWey, Chris Self, Michael Self, Lisa Reed and Kenny Self; his pets Tom Tom and Ginger.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother.
