It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Kendrick Duane Schwendeman, 31, of Waterford after an accident on Friday, June 20, 2025. He was born on September 30, 1993 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio to his loving parents Melvin and Brenda Schwendeman.
Kendrick graduated from Waterford High School and the Washington County Career Center with the Class of 2012. He then attended The Ohio State University (ATI) before transferring to The Ohio State University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree in 2017. He was employed by Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District as an Agriculture Technician for the past 5 years. Kendrick was a big advocate and loved to serve his community. He was an active member of the Washington County Farm Bureau for 6 years also serving as President for 2 of those years. He was also a part of the Waterford Community Fair board starting in 2017, and was a part of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Lowell, Ohio.
Kendrick loved being a part of the farming community in our area. This was one of his main drives to graduate college and to be able to help all the local farmers thrive and succeed where he could. He enjoyed spending his days doing his own farming as well throughout the Waterford, Churchtown, Barlow, and Stockport area. Most importantly, he loved being around his family every day and getting together with his close friends regularly. Kendrick has always had the biggest smile and laugh that could light up a whole room that many people will remember for years to come. His family could never be more proud of him and all his achievements. He always strived to be his best self for everyone.
Kendrick is survived by his parents Melvin and Brenda Schwendeman of Waterford. His sister Katrina Schwendeman Schilling, his brother-in-law Adam Schilling, and his nephew Benton Schilling of Beverly, who Kendrick thought the world of and couldn’t wait to share a chicken wing with. He is also survived by his grandfather Robert Schwendeman of Waterford and grandmother Bonnie Hutchins of Waterford. Along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins that he loved so deeply.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Virgil Hutchins and grandmother Jeanette Schwendeman.
In leu of flowers and other thoughtful gifts, we feel Kendrick would want to give more back to his community like he always has. Donations can be made to the Waterford Community Fair at Community Fair INC, P.O. Box 244, Waterford, OH 45786 and/or Our Lady Mercy Catholic Church at 5001 Lowell Hill Rd., Lowell, OH 45744..
