Kennedy Monroe Lee, 21, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of fierce love, bold spirit, and boundless compassion.
Born on June 2, 2003, in Rock Hill, Kennedy was the beloved daughter of Jennifer Jackson and the late John "Jeff" Lee. She grew up in a close-knit family, always surrounded by love and laughter. Kennedy was a proud graduate of York Comprehensive High School in York, SC, where she made lifelong friendships and left her mark with her vibrant personality and determination.
Kennedy's life was a beautiful mix of strength and sweetness. Headstrong and stubborn in the best of ways, she stood up for what she believed in and never backed down. Her kindness knew no limits-she had a heart big enough for everyone, and she never met a baby she didn't instantly adore. Strangers quickly became friends under her warm, open nature.
She was a devoted mother to her beloved son, Adrian Mathis, who was the light of her life. Her love extended deeply to her family, including her siblings Kelsey Carter (Devan) and Garrett Lee, nephews Jeffrey "Jac" Carter and Theodore "Teddy" Carter, and her grandfather Tom Jackson. Kennedy was also cherished by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will deeply miss her joyful presence. Kennedy leaves behind many friends that became family.
Kennedy was preceded in death by her father, John "Jeff" Lee, her grandmother Phyllis Dian Kiser, her grandfather, John Turner Lee and her great-grandparents Fred and Colleen Kiser.
Though her time with us was far too short, Kennedy's impact will be felt forever. Her bold spirit, unwavering love, and unforgettable laugh will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Kennedy's life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 4855 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28205. The family will greet visitors prior to the service at 3:00 pm in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local charity supporting young mothers, Breakthrough T1D, or the American Diabetes Association, in honor of Kennedy.
