Rev. Kenneth Eugene Benoist, 92, of Rockingham, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 24, 2025.
Kenneth was born December 12, 1932 in Richmond County, NC, a son of the late Clyde L. Benoist and Nancy Watts Benoist. He retired from JP Stevens, and was Pastor of the East Rockingham Congregational Holiness church for many years. He attended Mount Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Horne Benoist; son-in-law, Tommy Shoe; brothers, Bill, Grady, Curtis, Jessie, Don, Bobby, Thomas, Everett, and Ronnie; and sisters, Helen Lampley, and Sara Chabot.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Ray Benoist (Linda) of Lugoff, SC and his daughters, Sue Benoist Shoe of Rockingham, Lynn Benoist Snead (Ronnie) and Anita Benoist Knight (Ricky), of Hamlet; grandchildren, Wendy, Corey, Deanna, Kasi, and Anna; great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Savannah, Laci, Luke, Austin, Emily, and Elias; sisters-in-law Doris Horne White and Joann Grant Benoist.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will greet family and friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham, NC.
