I was a student of Dr. Brewer´s at Spring Arbor University in the early 2000's. I will forever cherish how he challenged me to dig deeper in my study of theology and pneumatology. After I graduated, we continued to study and pray together and even share in many changeling theological discussions. I will forever treasure what I have learned from Dr. Brewer. I am a better pastor and theologian because of him! I was saddened to hear of his passing, but the heavens rejoice as Dr. Brewer has gone from work to reward!

Ken´s love of books impacted me for life. As seminary students back in the 80´s, I had the privilege of a lifetime to be roommates with brothers, Ken and Keith Brewer, in the same suite. From them, I learned not only to read good books, but also to hunt down books I might not otherwise have bothered to read. I remember Ken saying, `it´s good to read that book (the one I was reading), but it´s also important to read at a couple of different levels, not only to inspire you, but to challenge you.´ Ken didn´t just read, he devoured content and carried on a lively conversation with the authors.
Ken also prayed at `the drop of a hat.´ A conversation that required greater wisdom didn´t extend long before Ken would say, `Do you want to pray?´
It remains a joyful memory - brothers Ken, Keith inseparable in my memory from those times. Two brothers whose mirrored lives blessed me and countless others, immeasurably.
Thank you, Ken.
God bless you in your loss, and in heaven´s gain, Keith!
Warm condolences to all Ken´s family,
Michael Hambley

I was a philosophy major at SAU when the major was first created and graduated in 2014. Prof Brewer had a tremendously positive impact on my life and taught the most important class I've ever taken - Critical Thinking. There I learned to always be aware of my own and other's biases. This is vital in the work I do now as a child advocacy attorney. My prayers go out to the Brewer family and the SAU philosophy/theology department. Prof Brewer was a great man and will be missed.
