Mr. Kenneth Bright

Mr. Kenneth Bright, 82, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2024 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Care Center. He was born May 17, 1942 at Goodin Branch to the late John R. and Tressie Grubb Bright.
Kenneth was a former carpenter and a member of the Roadside Baptist Church. In his youth, Kenneth was known as a fabulous shade tree mechanic and loved to work on vintage or classic cars. Above all, Kenneth adored his family and treasured the moments spent with them.
On March 18, 1961, he united in marriage with Mildred Mills, who preceded him in death.
Other family members to precede him in death include a sister, Lana Bright Gambrel; parents-in-law, Edd and Lucy Mills; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Sue Bright and Sue Bright and a brother-in-law, Roger May.
Survivors include his loving children, Kenny Lee Bright of Barbourville, Randy Edward Bright and wife, Janice, of Lexington, Douglas Keir Bright of Barbourville and Douglas Wolfgang Bright and wife, Eya, of Simi Valley, CA; sisters, Helen Bright May of Keavy and Paula Bright Smith and husband, Kent, of Bimble; brothers, Denver Bright of Road Fork, Charles Bright and wife, Bernice, of Gray, Earl Bright of Bimble, Johnny Bright and wife, Tammy, of Gray and Jerry Bright and wife, Judy, of Bimble; treasured grandchildren, Caitlin Victoria Bright Honaker and husband, Matthew, and Clint Edward Bright and wife, Kristen; a great grandson, Noah Matthew Honaker; among other loved ones an dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, December 11 at 12 Noon with Rev. Tommy Frazier, Rev. Josh Smith and Rev. Charles Bright officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Douglas Wolfgang Bright, Clint Edward Bright, Paul Mahan, Matthew Honaker, Jeffrey Bright, Steve Bright, Michael Nunley, Michael Bright and Brandon Bright.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 PM. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.
