Kenneth Robert Cox went to be with the Lord on 27 December 2022. He had a strong Catholic Faith and attended St. Jude Catholic Church when he lived in Arkansas.
Ken was born 12 April 1941 in Rock Island, IL to LeRoy Raymond and Blanche Agnes Mohr Cox. He attended Rialto High School in Rialto, CA. At the age of 17 Ken joined the Navy where he served in combat with two of his brothers. He received an honorable discharge in 1967. For decades after his military service, he made a profession with skills as a plumber and an electrician, before retiring from Sisters of Mercy Hospital in Waldron, AR as Head of Maintenance.
Ken was a resident of the Freedom Community, volunteering at the local fire department, where he remained on the rolls until he went to peace. He was known for his quick wit and gleaming smile, sharing limericks and jokes with ease.
Ken was a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle who is survived by daughters Jennifer Lee Weier, her husband Douglas, and their three children Allen, DJ, and Steffanie of Rowlett, Tx; Monica Lee Bohnert, her husband Travis, and their two children Ian and Emma of Raeford, NC; and Jennifer Edwards of San Diego, CA; and 4 great grandchildren Aiden, Damante, Bianca, and Miguel. He is also survived by siblings Kathy Wood and Joan Franklin of Booneville, AR; Jerre Cox and wife Brenda of Freedom Community, AR and Mary Ann Womack of Farmington, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ken was proceeded in death by his beloved mother Blanche Agnes Mohr Cox, father LeRoy Raymond Cox, his brothers Raymond, Richard (Dickie), and Tom Cox.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday January 3, 2022 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Waldron with Father Les Farley officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery after the service under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Judes Catholic Church, Waldron or Northwest Scott Fire Department in Kenneth's name.
