Kenneth M. Evans, Sr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in New Orleans to James K. and Carmen Halphen Evans, Kenneth was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Claire "Bebe" Viguerie Evans, and his four children, Kenneth, Jr. (JoAnn), Daniel (Yvonne), Jeanne Butler (Tim) and Paul (Carin) as well as nine grandchildren, Geoffrey (Laura), Emily, Reid, Daniel Jr. (Caroline), Claire, Patrick, Justin Butler (Morgan), Kathleen Butler Dovichi (Vincent), Ethan and two great grandchildren, Eli Evans and Mason Butler. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents as well as sister Mary Catherine Meriwether and brother John J. Evans, Sr.
While growing up in New Orleans, Kenneth was an avid sailor, horseman, hunter and fisherman. As a young man, Kenneth was often found sailing Lake Pontchartrain with his brother John, riding horses on the levees of Jefferson Parish with his best friend Bill or hunting and fishing from his aunt's camp on Irish Bayou. He was a proud graduate of Tulane University working his way through school at Public Service where he met and then married the love of his life, Bebe. Kenneth continued his career moving to Middle South Services where he was the employment manager and then opening his own business, Kenneth Evans & Associates, a executive placement agency, from which he eventually retired.
Above all, Kenneth's legacy will be his loving and enduring marriage to Bebe and as father to his four children who were raised in a house they built together in River Ridge, LA. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who knew the rock was not a crock. His steadfast commitment to family has and will continue to be the hallmark of a life well lived and an example to all that had the pleasure of knowing him, especially his children. Kenneth will be deeply missed by family and friends. May he rest in internal peace.
