Kenneth William Kendall Freeland, Michigan
Kenneth Kendall peacefully passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 85 years young.
Son of the late Kenneth and Wanda (Jastremski) Kendall, Ken was born September 8, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Barbara Kabat on October 7, 1961. She survives him.
Throughout his life, Ken embodied kindness and merriment. His life reflected the values he held dear; love for family, dedication to hard work and to living life fully. While we deeply mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind - a legacy of love, humor, and generosity.
Ken was a beloved postal carrier in Saginaw, retiring in 2001, after 36 years of service. He had a passion for animals as he cared for his various pets and was known as "The Bunny Man" for many years, visiting area schools with his rabbits where he taught kindness, care and love for God's creatures. Ken enjoyed camping, attending school sporting events, keeping a watchful eye over the neighborhood from his front yard swing and devoting precious time to his family and friends.
Becoming a grandfather was a blessing for Ken as his granddaughters and grandson brought him light, laughter and love, not to mention everlasting youth. His strong work ethic, joy and compassion lives on through them.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife Barbara and children; Jack (Laurie) Kendall and Kendra (Dennis) Vowell, grandchildren; Jacquelyn (Chad) DeLude, Evan Vowell (Troy Naylor), and Jennifer Kendall; his beloved corgi Abby, in-laws; Jo Seemann, Frankie Kabat, Jennean Kabat (Daniel Snyder), Denise (Mike) Earl, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members whom he loved dearly.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Dearinger and her husband Paul, infant twin sisters Marcia and Patricia, mother and father-in-law Jack and Jean Kabat, and in-laws Jerry Seemann, David and Diane Kabat, and Tim MacKay.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor Danielle Shealy will officiate with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeland, Michigan. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at The Snow Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
