Kenneth K. McIntyre, Sr. age 84 of Crystal, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home with his beloved family by his side. He was born October 2, 1940, in Lansing, the son of Edward and Mildred (Lester) McIntyre. He was a 1958 graduate of Vermontville High School and many years later attended MCC for construction. Kenneth married Joan Foster on July 22, 1960, at her parents' home in Carson City, a blessed union of 65 years.
Kenneth retired from the Department of Corrections after many years of service as an officer and mail room clerk. He was a member of the MCO and served as a past Union Steward. Kenneth was also a member of the Carson City Congregational Church. Kenneth was a hardworking man his whole life, and enjoyed gardening, farming, working on cars and tractors. He was proud of his collection of Mustangs and vintage tractors.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Joan; children Kenneth (Carol) McIntyre, Jr., Jim (Janelle) McIntyre, Amy (Rob) Dellar; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 1 pm at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Crystal. Interment will follow in Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
