Kenneth S. Puetz, 72, of rural Kiel, died as the result of an automobile accident on September 20, 2024. He was born July 20, 1952, the son of Edwin and Esther (Keuler) Puetz. He was a graduate of Kiel High School and later Lakeland University.
Ken had a love of cars all his life. From a young age, along with his friend, Charlie, he would drive his pedal car around Kiel. It sparked his interest in racing. He traveled to Daytona, Talladega, Omaha, Salt Lake and Joliet to race at those tracks. He spent many hours at his father's Ford dealership, Puetz Motor Sales in Kiel. Later, he became owner of the dealership along with his brother-in-law, Don Baus. Eventually, the dealership was sold. Ken was employed at Truck Country in Kaukauna as the corporate used truck manager.
Ken's love for cars and trucks continued; he collected a variety of cars, trucks and Ford tractors. He was especially fond of Ford Mustangs. Ken liked going to the races at Road America in Elkhart Lake; several times he was able to drive one of his cars on that track. Ken was proud to be a shareholder of Road America
He married Jackie Luebke in 1981. Together, they had a hobby farm with horses, sheep and chickens. On weekends, Ken could be found caring for these animals that he truly loved. Summer months were enjoyed at the family cottage on Cedar Lake. As a young boy, Ken had a small boat and motor that he loved to go as fast as he could.
Ken is survived by his wife, Jackie; his sister, Janet Baus and nieces and nephews.
Per Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral services for Ken will be held on Saturday September 28, 2024 at 2:00pm at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home, 815 6th St. Kiel. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00pm until 1:45pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

My wife and I both liked Ken so much and were hurt big time after hearing of the accident. We knew him through associating with Truck Country at Kaukauna WI. Needless to say, Freightliners are a big part of our lives. We'll sure miss Ken from now on.
