Kenneth Edward Schulz, age 75, of Karnes City, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. He was born to Harold A. Schulz and Mary Boelter Schulz on December 20, 1947.
Kenneth married Victoria Lynn Meyr for time and all eternity on July 31, 1973 in Mesa, Arizona. Throughout his life he was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and son. After high school Kenneth joined the Army National Guard and deployed to Germany during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Kenneth began working for Chevron throughout the duration of his career of 35 years. He was a safety engineer and was loved and respected by co-workers. If there was music playing and room to dance, you would find Kenneth two-stepping with his wife. Later in life, he enjoyed fishing, music, mowing grass, and telling a good joke. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held multiple leadership roles within the church and loved serving the community.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Victoria Lynn Meyr.
Kenneth is survived by his six children, Jeffrey Schulz (Janette), Melanie Upton (Tony), Melissa Schulz, Heidi Porter (Brandon), John Wayne Schulz, Garret Schulz (Tabitha); fifteen grandchildren, Bailey Schulz, Carter Schulz, Taylor Schulz, Brooklyn Schulz, Emaline Upton, Kathryn Upton, Rebekah Upton, Nathan Upton, Dallin Rice, Layla Rice, Kinzie Rice, Dane Rice, Reagan Porter, Rylee Porter, and Adalynn Schulz; brother Jonathan Schulz (Theresa), sisters Susan Jambers (Tom) and Carol Schulz. Kenneth is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, also at Rhodes Funeral Home. A burial will follow at the New Bremen Cemetery.
