Kent Telfer, 83 years of age, passed away at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington, on January 22, 2025, after a brief illness. Beloved father to Sonya (Romeo) Telfer, and Michelle Fenton, grandfather to Erika Telfer, Jennie Petroski and Ashley Tabotabo, and great-grandfather to Evan Petroski and Brody Walters.
He was married to Sherry Burgess from 1963 to 1983. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Jennie Telfer, his sister Karla Allen, his son-in-law Lucius Fenton, and his partner in life Denise Dalton.
Kent was born on August 16, 1941, in Rupert, Idaho. He graduated from Declo High School, where he enjoyed basketball, football and track. Kent moved to California after high school. He loved to help people and animals, and he rescued/fostered/adopted multiple cats and dogs. His other interests included trips to the ocean, antiques, vintage boats and cars, cycling, eating at his favorite restaurants, comedies and music. He treasured the many friendships he made throughout his life. Kent will be dearly missed.
Per his request, there will be no public memorial or service. However, donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association, The Parkinson's Foundation or your local SPCA. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Kent, please visit our Tree Store.
