Kermit D. Carpenter, Jr., age 66, passed away on June 14, 2024, at his residence in Forest, MS. His visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. His services will take place in our Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM. His burial will follow at Hillsboro Baptist Cemetery in Forest, MS. Bro. Phillip Roland will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.

Kermit was born to Kermit D. Carpenter, Sr. and Ruby Ruth Travis on September 9, 1957, in Forest, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Forest, MS. Kermit was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church in Forest, MS and he was a 1975 graduate of Forest High School where he excelled and lettered in football and then played football at ECCC for one year. He then went to work offshore for Halliburton and also worked at Unipres, Koch Foods and Tyson. 

Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Ruby Carpenter; his sister, Mary Jane McDonald; and his wife Katherine Herron Carpenter. He is survived by his sister, Ann Allison of Forest, MS; his niece, Corrie Ann Hollingsworth of Richland, MS; and a number of cousins and friends.
