KEVIN M. ANTHONY age 73, beloved husband for 50 years of Mary K. (nee Gross); loving father of Kyle (David) Stimpert and Bryan (Jessica) Anthony; devoted grandfather of Ryan and Nell Stimpert and Elliot and Owen Anthony; cherished son of the late Frank M. and Margaret M. (nee Laposky) Anthony; dearest brother of Andrea (Rick, deceased) Holden, Brian (Liz) Anthony, Steve (Silvia) Anthony, and John Anthony; caring uncle to many.
Kevin was born on November 28, 1951, in Erie, Penn. He grew up in Kenmore, New York and graduated high school from St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He then moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 1973. During his time at Case, he met his wife, Mary, and joined Phi Kappa Theta fraternity in which he became an active and lifelong member. His love for engineering and teaching remained a constant in his life; he worked for many years as an engineer at LTV Steel and North Bay Construction. He went on to complete a Master’s in Education from John Carroll University and enjoyed nearly a decade of teaching math and science at Memorial Junior High School in South Euclid-Lyndhurst. Kevin's life was one of exploration, love, support, and devotion to his family. His life passions included being a coach and judge in the local robotics club, volunteer work as a PSR teacher at Church of the Resurrection in Solon, OH and at the Great Lakes Science Center and watching the sun rise at the Outer Banks. His curiosity and delight in the mechanics of all things encompassed a love of the universe, stars, technology and running or walking anywhere outdoors. Kevin was a man of service, and he delighted in supporting and spending time with others, especially his wife, children, and his precious grandchildren. He and his family remain forever grateful to the staff at Marian Gardens at Jennings for their compassionate care during the last few years of his life, always caring for him as though he were family. Kevin would do anything for anyone and could always be spotted in one of his many Life is Good, OBX, 10K or Blossom Time race T-shirts, holding a cup of black coffee in one hand and a chocolate chip cookie in the other. His gentle spirit and generous heart continue to shine through the lives of those he touched.
