It is with profound sadness and great difficulty that we announce the passing of our beloved Kevin Alfonso De Herrera who died unexpectedly on April 22, 2025.
Kevin was born in Las Vegas on April 7, 1986 to Esther Bernice Baca of Las Vegas, NM and Leonard De Herrera Sr. of Buena Vista, NM.
Kevin was raised and loved profoundly by his Momma Bonnie as he called her, Anna Bustamante.
Kevin was an energetic and rambunctious child who loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and who was often found jumping and performing karate kicks and movements. He adored his pets and his pets adored Kevin.
Kevin graduated from WLV High School in 2005, where he played football and basketball. Basketball was his greatest joy at the time and it set him on a path which lead to one of his other passions, shoes. Kevin's love of Michael Jordan basketball shoes is the reason his first born is named Jordan.
Kevin struggled in his life but always remained a loving and kind soul. He was deeply loved by his family and closest friends who will forever love and miss him.
Kevin is preceded in death by his mother, Esther Bernice Baca; his brother, Leonard De Herrera Jr.; Maternal grandparents, Delfido Baca Sr. and Genevive Baca; paternal grandparents, Elisa De Herrera-Romero and Alfonso De Herrera; maternal uncle, Delfido Baca Jr.; maternal infant aunt, Cruzita Baca; paternal uncles, Norman De Herrera, Larry, Tomas and Manuel Romero. We know Kevin was also greeted in heaven by his very much loved dogs, Ramon, Heidi and Chata.
Kevin is survived by his children, Jordan DeHerrera and his mother Victoria Lovato; daughters & stepsons, Annaztajia and Amillia De Herrera, LeLand and Lino Paiz and their mother Regina Armijo; his father, Leonard De Herrera Sr. and step mother Rose De Herrera; adoptive mother, Anna (momma Bonnie) Bustamante; his only nephew, Jesus De Herrera; paternal aunt, Jeanette De Herrera; Maternal aunt and uncle who he considered grandparents, Angelina and Frank Salmeron; his sister whom he adores, Amanda Bustamante and Rexann and uncle Lorenzo; uncle Flavio Baca and Bernadette; uncle Rudy Baca; aunt Cynthia (Anthony) Ridgeway; Uncle Delfie Bustamante (Jeanette). Kevin is survived by numerous cousins whom he loved, Rachel, Cyrena and Nathaniel Ridgeway, Kenneth, Estevan (Jacqueline) and Mateo (Camaria),Mariana and Isabella Bustamante, Lyric and Carly Nelson, Simora Ulibarri and paternal special cousin Benjie Pino along with numerous others. Kevin is also survived by a childhood friend he considered a brother, Eric "Handsome" Urioste.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Church by Los Hermanos De La Morada San Antonio de Buena Vista with eulogy given by Rexann Bustamante. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church with Deacon Chris Torres officiating.
