Kevin Ray Downie was born to Jerry Lee and Bonnie Rae (McLean) Downie on November 7, 1957 in Spokane, Washington. Kevin made the journey to Heaven August 1st, where he joins his beloved father Jerry and brother Jody.

Kevin attended West Valley High School in 1976. Soon after high school, Kevin's free spirit led him to California in 1977 where he met Laurrie Pruett and had their son Jerramiah in 1978.

Kevin returned to Spokane in 1990 and picked up his life where he left off. In 2003. At the age of 46, Kevin had a stroke. He was able to get around with a cane and his scooter was his ticket to freedom beyond the front door. Kevin loved traversing Spokane Valley including Mexican restaurants, his favorite pub, and his mother's house.

Kevin enjoyed fishing with his brothers, attending family functions. He loved watching old Westerns, and during the NFL season, he never missed a game.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Peggy for her 20 years of caregiving. Without her friendship and dedication to Kevin, he could not have lived so independily. Thank you for your blessing Peggy. They are also very grateful to Jane and her staff for going the extra mile at Beyond Pristine Adult Family Home for the professional care Kevin received.

Kevin is preceded in death by his father Jerry Downie and his brother Jody Downie.

Kevin is survived by his son Jerramiah Pruett of Semi Valley, CA; his mother Bonnie Rae Downie of Spokane Valley, WA; his brother Kim (Teri) Downie of Mead, WA; nieces Shannon and Leanne; nephew Shane, 2 grandchildren, and 9 great nieces and nephews.
