Kevin P. Kane, of North Chelmsford, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025. Kevin was 85 years old. He was born in Brooklyn NY, August 1, 1939. He was the sone of the late Martin & Eleanor (Mullins) Kane. He grew up in Worcester, MA. He attended grammar school in Worcester and graduated for St. Peter's CC High School in 1958. While in high school, he joined the "Ground Observer Corps" located at the Worcester Regional Airport. After high school, he attended Worcester Junior College. He received a certificate in traffic and transportation from the Lasalle Traffic and Transportation School in Chicago, IL. Kevin went on to work as a supervisor in the transportation field for over 50 years beginning with Roadway Express, he also worked for P.I.E., Jones Motor and Conway Eastern Express. He retired from ABF Freight after almost 20 years as a Regional Training Specialist. In this position he traveled throughout New England and upstate New York. His territory also included eastern Canada, the Provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. He loved the traveling. Kevin also worked part-time for almost 40 years at Osco Drug, Brooks Pharmacy and Rite Aid.
Kevin loved working in his yard and his deck garden, where he grew tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and other vegetables.
Kevin was a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard. During the Berlin crisis, his unit, the 101 AC&W, was activated and sent to Germany. After his release from active duty in 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Drolet. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in 2023.
Kevin had three sisters, Barbara, Sharon and Susan and one brother, Wayne. Barbara, Sharon and Wayne are deceased. His third sister, Susan, lives in Brunswick, MD. Kevin leaves two sons, Robert and his wife Lorie of Franklin, NH; Michael and his wife Bethaney of New Ipswich, NH. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, John, Eric, Mathew, Magen and Nicholas; and 2 great-grandchildren, William and Zoey Elizabeth.
Calling hours will be from 9:30-10:30 am at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St, North Chelmsford, followed by an 11AM Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 115 Middlesex St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
