Kevin Dean Martin, 64, of Allen, Texas passed away on August 3, 2025, after a courageous battle with a rare and severe form of vasculitis. Born on October 24, 1960, in Oklahoma City, to Joel and Dorothy Martin, Kevin lived a full and vibrant life, rooted in faith, family, and friendship.
Kevin graduated from Putnam City West High School, where he forged lifelong friendships that would remain a constant throughout his life. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, proudly joining Acacia Fraternity. His time there was filled with unforgettable memories-many of which continued to resurface in stories shared over the years by his beloved fraternity brothers. He had a little too much fun there, having to retake an additional 6 hours at OSU Tech in Oklahoma City to get those awesome grades up. From there, he finally got that OSU Cowboy diploma! (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration)
While finishing school, Kevin worked as a personal trainer and a bouncer at Quick Silvers and Bell Stars, jobs that provided not only memorable experiences but also a few legendary stories. At one point, he was preparing to join the military as an officer and had nearly completed the enlistment process-until fate intervened. Just days before his final appointment, he met Leslie. Everything changed. They dated for two years and married in June of 1986. Three months later, they packed up and moved to Dallas to begin their beautiful life together.
Kevin's early professional career began with an awesome position as Manager at Snappy Car Rental, earning a whopping $4.15 an hour- with supposed "great bonus potential." This eventually led him into a successful career in risk management, where he earned several professional accreditations and served in the public sector until his retirement a few years ago. He and Leslie were members of First Baptist Church of Dallas.
A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Kevin was known for his discipline and dedication to health. His mother-in-law affectionately dubbed him "Mr. America," a title that perfectly captured his strong physique and presence. But his greatest pride-and the role he cherished most-was being a father.
Kevin and Leslie welcomed their daughters Paige in April 1995 and Rachel in October 1996; 18 months apart, oh boy! Raising them was the joy of his life. He coached their soccer teams, stayed actively involved in every chapter of their childhood, and passed on his values, humor, and work ethic. Paige and Rachel didn't really have a say in where they would go to college, as dad had informed them that it would be at Oklahoma State University. Watching them attend OSU brought him endless joy, allowing him to relive some of his favorite memories through football games, tailgating, Dad's Day, and Homecoming weekends.
Kevin's ideal day was spent at Boone Pickens Stadium, surrounded by family, cheering on the Cowboys in his signature OSU orange. You could always spot him in any crowd-just look for the brightest orange shirt there.
Kevin's passions included watching UFC, his favorite sports teams, riding his Harley, restoring his 1969 Camaro, collecting firearms, managing fantasy football teams with his friends, and spending time with his loyal Dobermans, Dax and Angel. Above all, he loved being with his family. His laughter, stories, and larger-than-life spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
His sudden and unexpected departure will leave a huge void in so many people's hearts. He will be deeply missed but always remembered.
Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Martin; his parents, Joel and Dorothy Martin; and his aunt, Clara Cowan.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Martin of Allen, Texas; his daughter, Paige and her husband Bobby Meyer of Denton, Texas; his daughter, Rachel Martin of San Antonio, Texas; and his sister, Kimberly and her husband Daniel Salazar of Plano, Texas.
Visitation with family present will be held at Mercer-Adams on Thursday from 6-8pm. Funeral services are planned for Friday, August 8, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Fairlawn Cemetery.
