NORTH ATTLEBORO – Kevin P. McCarty, 65, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Karen M. (Malley) McCarty.
Born in Winthrop, MA on January 24, 1960, he was a loving son of the late Edward J. and Anne S. (Szewzchuk) McCarty.
Kevin grew up in Norwood, MA and was a graduate of Norwood High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Throughout his working years, Kevin was employed as a driver for Nesco Electric in Norwood and Granite City Electric in Plymouth. For the past 16 years, he worked for the MBTA.
He was a diehard fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins. Kevin also enjoyed playing Words With Friends on his phone and was an avid reader. His favorite moments were those spent in the company of his adoring family-especially time with his cherished grandson.
In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his children: John T. McCarty and his wife Julie of Spartanburg, SC, and Crystal M. McCarty of North Attleboro. He also leaves his only grandson, Austin J. McCarty of North Attleboro; his brother, Richard "Butch" McCarty of Hyannis; and many other extended family members.
Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Sperry-McHoul-Pichi Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service in celebration of Kevin's life will be held in the funeral home immediately following visitation at 7:00 PM. United States Army honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the service in recognition of Kevin's service to the country.
