Kim Cedarstrom Obituary
Meredith, NH - It is with incredible sadness that we announce the death of Kim Robert Cedarstrom on December 8, 2024 from complications of Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia and lymphoma. Kim was the only child of Pauli and Robert Cedarstrom born May 22, 1948, in Weymouth, MA. He moved to New Hampshire as a child attending Sanbornton Central School and Laconia High School. He went on to earn a BA in economics from the University of New Hampshire, which he financed himself working at Great Bay Marina and Irwin Marine.
After college, Kim worked on ski patrol at Waterville Valley. He was an elegant skier, and continued to ski the rest of his life. He had a passion for the water, boats and fly-fishing. Many days were spent at the lake swimming, kayaking and reading or just taking a ride on one of the many boats he owned over the years.
Kim had a creative mind and an entrepreneurial spirit, establishing his first business – Great Northern Woodstoves - in 1974. Subsequently, he founded businesses in the ski and marine industries. He worked in business sales and real estate before retiring in 2021.
In years past he served as a youth and high school sports coach, was on the Meredith Planning Board, and the board of directors of the Laconia Area Community Land Trust.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Holly, with whom he had many adventures; his cherished daughter, Maggie Cedarstrom and her husband Dorian Fox; his cousin, Rich Grant and his wife Trisha; brother-in-law Greg Samaha and his wife Marie; and sister-in-law Raheegie Samaha. He is predeceased by his beloved daughter Caitlyn Raheegie Cedarstrom Morris (2014).
Kim was an engaging human being, kind, generous, loving, funny. He was fastidious in everything he did: tending his gardens, taking care of his property, loving his family. His energy was galvanizing and will continue to resound with those who knew and loved him.
There are no services planned at this time. A celebration of Kim's life will be held sometime in the spring.
